Escape to the Midlands for a guided and fully-supported training weekend in inspirational surroundings, whilst your accommodation, catering and vehicle back-up are taken care of.
Our weekender training tour starts at the foot of the Kamberg and passes through private farmland, forestry and nature reserve to finish at Howick Falls. Day 1 is approximately 70kms from Kamberg/lower Lotheni through to Balgowan – traversing the headwaters of the Mgeni, following forest, farm and jeep track and culminating with a thrilling descent on the newly created singletrack of the Michaelhouse Mountainbike race.
Day 2 entails more hill climbing, but is amply rewarded with the best of Karkloof and Howick singletrack. There is a longer option routing for those who want to clock more miles, cycling along a contoured ridge with a birds eye down into Umgeni Valley (approx 60km).
Finish the day at Yellowood Café – as you enjoy a sumptious lunch overlooking the Howick Falls.
For those with time, or simply cant pass up the tracks in this neck of the woods, an extra day can be spent in Howick or Hilton, honing your skills and steed on the Hilton forests.
