'Hands-on' Bike Maintenanace Course

Owning a mountain bike - whether you are a serious rider or simply enjoy it as a sport - is an investment in both time and money. Protect that investment by learning some of the tricks of the trade – helping to prolong the lifespan of your components, and prevent small technical hitches from putting an untimely end to your next outride .

Workshop Topics:
Our Course will cover the following topics in the 1.5 days of Workshop:

• General bicycle maintenance
• General bicycle setup
• Front & Rear Derailleur Gear Setting
• Gear cable service & replacement
• Chain maintenance & repair
• V-Brakes: Setting, cable service & replacement
• Disk Brake Settings : Calliper alignment & adjustments, pad replacement, Hydraulic brake bleeding
• Headset adjustment and service
• Trouble-shooting & Analysis
• Tech-Talk
• Special Requests – Time Permitting

Workshop Programme:

Friday 19 th Feb – late afternoon:

Arrive & settle in at Venue (21km from Howick)
6 – 9 pm: Bike Maintenance Workshop
Part I: Intro & Theory
7.30 - 8pm: Break for Dinner

Saturday 20 th Feb:

6.30 am – 9/ 9.30 am: Social Cycle Ride
After some early-morning fuel, we'll head out into the Karkloof Valley – traversing private farmland & forestry, with some great flowing single-track down to the Karkloof Falls to look forward to.
Ride Distance: approx 30- 33km.

10 – 12.30pm : BMW Workshop: Demonstration & Application + Practice Session
12.30-1.00pm : Lunch
1.15 - 4.00pm : BMW Workshop: Demonstration & Application + Practice Session

Price: Based on a minimum of 5 persons

R 1,100/ per participant – with chalet accommodation
R 950 / per participant - with camping accommodation

Includes:

• 1.5 days Bike Maintenance Workshop (well accredited tutor with experience as chief-mechanic for Morewood International Racing Team )
• 1 nights accommodation (Package a – shared chalet accom, Package b – camping- own tent)
• All meals (i.e. 1 dinner, 1 breakfast, & 1 lunch)
• Social ride
