'Relax as hard as you like' is the tune by which things are run at this tented bushcamp nestled amongst the aloes and acacias of the magnificent Tugela canyon, central KwaZulu-Natal. Wake to the call of a fish-eagle, partake in early-morning game-walks, sunbathe on one of the giant boulders in front of camp, or unwind with sundowners, roaring campfires, open-air dining and evening skies awash with stars. For the outdoor enthusiast, this Tugela bushcamp provides the perfect playground. Whether its adventure, nature or relaxation that you after, the surrounds and company of Z-Safaris, offer the perfect tonic. From game-viewing, flyfishing and birding to more adventurous pursuits such as 4x4'ing, zip-lining, river rafting, abseiling and quad-biking, you'll never run short of things to do.

From simple beginnings, this bushcamp has evolved slowly over the years and has stretched the concept of outdoor living to its limits! A firm believer, that rocks and trees are there to stay, Mark (owner) and his team have lovingly built their accommodation around the natural features of this landscape. Enjoy the panoramas afforded by the outdoor showers of your ensuite bathroom or the morning banter of the mocking chats as they hop around your room.

Most activities are offered year round, but the best rafting months (i.e. highest water levels) are November through to April; whilst river levels drop and clear during winter months - making conditions favourable for yellow fishing.

For adventure enthusiasts, there is the annual Adventure Race, a 35-40km orienteering and multi-sport challenge which attracts a loyal contingent of 'AR crazies' and their entourage - who have made this annual event into one of the most social and family-orientated getaways on the AR Race calender. The race was started back in 2003 and has grown from strength to strength....
